2021 Nissan Ariya: early news and pix...

As we already know, the production version of the Ariya is shockingly similar to last year's concept.

(although, what's with the 2 shark fins???)

So far this is what we know.

It is still at least a year away in the USA. Since it will be available in Japan in about a year, and in the US a bit later.

The range is up to 300 miles. With the larger battery, and 2WD.

And of course, less with AWD or the smaller battery. 

And it is now expected to start at around $40 000 in the US. Not the rumored $35 000.

And that will also be for the smaller battery.

So basically, $40 000 will probably get you a FWD Crossover with around 250 miles range.

Which is a bit more expensive than the Hyundai Kona EV or Chevy Bolt.

So far, this seems really nice. But not a game changer I was expecting.
